Cape May Walking Tours
For history up close and personal, nothing beats a walking tour. A number of different tours are available.
· Historic District Walking Tour: This tour through the Historic District give students a perspective on life in a different era and help them learn about and understand their heritage and built environment. Tours take approximately 1½ hours.
· Architectural Walking Tour: This tour focuses on the major elements of architectural style and last about 60 minutes.
· Cape May on Fire: On this living history tour which follows the path of the great fire of 1878, students can relive the battle to save the town, block by block. Tour takes about 60 minutes.
· Fisherman's Wharf Tour: Students tour the Lobster House dock and fish packing plant, for a glimpse into a contemporary industry. Tour lasts about 45 minutes.
· Doo Wop Trolley Tour: A narrated tour through the Doo Wop sections of the Wildwoods, which contain one of the nation's best collections of buildings in this unique style. Emphasis on the lifestyle and architecture of the era. This is ideally paired with our Wildwoods and the Doo Wop Era classroom program.
